PPP Marks 58th Foundation Day with Nationwide Show of Strength; Bilawal Warns Against Anti‑Democratic Forces

Pakistan, Nov.30
: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) celebrated its 58th Foundation Day with an extraordinary display of public support across the country, as people from the northern belt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the southern districts of Balochistan and Sindh turned out in large numbers to hear Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari speak via video link.
Addressing nationwide gatherings, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said PPP’s 58-year history is a testament to “unbroken struggle, unmatched sacrifices, and unwavering loyalty to Pakistan’s democracy.” He declared that PPP remains the only party that has consistently resisted forces attempting to derail the Constitution and weaken parliamentary supremacy.
Bilawal said, “PPP has confronted every anti‑democratic conspiracy that sought to divide the people of Pakistan. From judicial injustices to political victimization, from targeted campaigns to engineered mandates — we have endured everything but never compromised on democracy.”
He stressed that the 1973 Constitution stands as the most powerful shield against undemocratic elements, adding that Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s vision, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s sacrifice, and President Asif Ali Zardari’s 18th Amendment collectively blocked the path of those who want to centralize power and undermine the rights of provinces.
Bilawal warned that certain groups still aim to weaken democratic institutions and impose decisions from outside the constitutional framework. “Let it be clear: Pakistan’s future will be decided by the people, not by anti‑democratic forces that fear the will of the nation. Parliament alone is the guardian of the Constitution, and we will not allow anyone to usurp that authority.”
Across all provinces, PPP supporters reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the democratic system, constitutional rule, and the rights of every citizen. The overwhelming nationwide turnout demonstrated the party’s broad appeal and renewed its message: the struggle for a strong, democratic Pakistan continues.
