Gilgit: Caretaker Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Justice (R) Yar Muhammad, during a briefing by the Services and General Administration Department and the Cabinet, emphasized that the interim government will focus on the protection of national resources, promoting austerity, and ensuring their proper use.
He highlighted that merit, good governance, and efficient resource management are top priorities, and called for the gradual implementation of the ‘E-Office’ system across all departments to enhance transparency and improve administrative efficiency.
Justice Yar Muhammad stated that development is impossible without honesty and the proper utilization of resources. He welcomed the acceleration of recruitment under the FPSC framework in Gilgit-Baltistan and directed the provincial secretary of services to finalize departmental rules on a priority basis. Recommendations will also be made to the FPSC Chairman to expedite the advertisement of all vacant posts.
The caretaker chief minister lauded the establishment of the Gilgit-Baltistan Testing Service as a positive step toward transparent recruitment of competent employees. He also proposed that the provincial employees’ benevolent fund and group insurance shares be transferred from the federal government to the province, subject to Prime Minister approval.
On the occasion, Secretary Services and General Administration, Usman Ahmed, provided a detailed briefing on the department’s performance and measures undertaken to ensure transparency and good governance in the province.
