ISLAMABAD — Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, chaired the 5th meeting of the Prime Minister’s Committee for the Modernization of the National Tariff Commission (NTC) on 3rd December 2025.

The meeting focused on strategies to modernize the NTC, enhance its regulatory and analytical capacities, and strengthen its role in shaping trade and tariff policies. Officials discussed reforms aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness in tariff management to support Pakistan’s economic growth and international trade competitiveness.

Dr. Malik emphasized the importance of adopting modern tools, data-driven decision-making, and effective coordination among federal agencies to ensure the NTC can meet evolving trade and tariff challenges. The committee also reviewed progress on previously agreed action plans and identified priority areas for further development.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from relevant federal ministries and departments, as well as technical experts engaged in the modernization process.
