KP Governor Marks International Day of Persons with Disabilities

PESHAWAR — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, in his message on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, emphasized that differently‑abled individuals deserve special attention from society and that protecting their rights is a national responsibility.

The governor stated that it is the collective duty of all citizens to ensure dignity, support, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities across every sector. He noted that Islam clearly highlights the welfare and inclusion of persons with disabilities, adding that they remain determined to contribute in all fields of life.

Governor Kundi stressed that with society’s compassion and support, meaningful positive changes can be brought to the lives of differently‑abled individuals. He said both federal and provincial governments must ensure that their needs are fully addressed.

He added that this day is observed globally to highlight the importance of safeguarding the rights of persons with disabilities and ensuring equal access to education, healthcare, and employment—fundamental rights of every differently‑abled citizen.
