Quetta, December 5, 2025: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, the 20th provincial cabinet meeting was held, approving significant decisions on climate change, public transport, education, and security.
The cabinet congratulated Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal General Asim Munir on his appointment, lauding his leadership during Indian aggression and commending the Pakistan Armed Forces for their exemplary defense strategy. The Chief Minister emphasized that the armed forces possess exceptional capacity to address national and global challenges, and the people of Balochistan stand firmly with them.
To enhance public services, the cabinet approved expanding Green Bus routes and fleet, alongside the introduction of the province’s first Pink Bus service for women. A Climate Fund was established to tackle environmental challenges, and a phased ban on pollution-causing rickshaws and motorbikes was announced, with plans to introduce electric alternatives.
The cabinet also approved the establishment of the Bank of Balochistan, appointment of the Balochistan Environmental Protection Tribunal Chairperson, the Birth and Death Registration Model Bylaws 2022, and a Special Marriage Act for the minority “Bhai” community. Justice of the Peace powers were delegated to divisional and district officers to provide immediate relief and address citizens’ complaints.
Additional approvals included expansion of single-room schools, creation of a Project Management Unit, the Balochistan Livelihood Support Project, and Tax on Land and Agriculture Income Rules 2025.
