Karachi/Quetta: Syed Aman Shah, Provincial Convener of the Awaam Pakistan Party (APP) Balochistan, has said that the development of Balochistan begins with the development of Quetta and that the government must prioritize the provision of basic facilities in the provincial capital. He stated this during a consultative meeting with traders and local government representatives on Wednesday.

The meeting focused on improving the business environment in Quetta, modernising municipal services and finding sustainable solutions to long-standing civic challenges. Traders highlighted issues including traffic congestion, encroachments, sewage problems, poor cleanliness, security concerns and lack of facilities in major markets.

Local government officials assured enhanced coordination with the public and business community, adding that all related departments would be mobilised to resolve these issues. Syed Aman Shah directed authorities to expedite relief and rehabilitation measures in Quetta and maintain continuous engagement with traders.

Participants agreed that Quetta’s uplift is crucial for the economic strength of the entire province and resolved to work collectively under a unified strategy to address urban problems.
