Quetta, Dec 13: The Regional Meteorological Centre Balochistan has
forecast cold and partly cloudy weather on Saturday for Quetta, Zhob,
Kharan, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Mastung, Panjgur, Kech, Chaghi, and
Qila Saifullah, while dry conditions are expected to prevail in other
districts of the province.
According to the weather advisory, most districts of Balochistan are
likely to experience cold and dry weather on Sunday. However, partly
cloudy conditions are expected in Quetta, Zhob, Qila Abdullah, Pishin,
Khuzdar, Kech, Washuk, Kharan, Panjgur, Mastung, Kalat, Surab, Ziarat,
Loralai, Chaghi, and Qila Saifullah.
During this period, light rain is expected at a few places in upper
areas of Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Ziarat, Mastung,
Chaghi, and Qila Saifullah, while snowfall is likely over mountainous
regions.
The Met Office reported that during the past 24 hours, weather
remained cold and dry across most districts of the province, with
severe cold felt during nighttime in northern and northwestern areas.
The lowest temperature was recorded in Kalat at 2 degrees Celsius,
while no rainfall was reported anywhere in the province.
The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to take
precautionary measures in view of the cold wave, particularly urging
residents of upper area
s to avoid unnecessary travel.
