Quetta, December 16, 2025 —

The Federal Constitutional Court has ordered an immediate suspension of the publication of results for headmasters’ recruitment in Balochistan, citing serious legal and procedural concerns in the selection process. The order was issued by a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Aminuddin while hearing a constitutional petition challenging the appointments.

During the proceedings, counsel for the petitioner, Fahim Khan, argued that the mandatory requirement of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree had been unlawfully ignored, allowing ineligible candidates to sit for the examination. The petition further contended that the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) violated the terms of its own advertisement issued in December 2024, raising serious questions about transparency and merit.

The court observed that prima facie violations of recruitment rules could not be overlooked and issued notices to the Government of Balochistan and the BPSC, seeking detailed replies. Until further orders, the authorities have been restrained from publishing or notifying the list of successful candidates.

Legal experts view the decision as a significant step toward safeguarding merit-based recruitment in the education sector. The court has adjourned the hearing, directing all respondents to submit comprehensive responses at the next date.
