Independent Report
Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has clarified the cause of the congestion at Islamabad Airport, following a viral video circulating on social media. According to the FIA, all check-in lines at the airport meet international standards, and all seven counters were fully operational with staff performing their duties efficiently.
The congestion was linked to a 50-minute delay of Saudi Airlines flight SV-729, which arrived late due to ground clearance procedures. At the time, two flights were operating: Fly Jinnah 9P764 at 7:20 PM and Saudi Airlines SV-729 at 6:41 PM. Both flights departed on schedule after completing their respective procedures.
The FIA emphasized that the immigration staff were not responsible for any delay, and none of the personnel were on leave. The agency confirmed that the brief congestion experienced at the airport was solely due to the late arrival of the SV flight, which also caused a delayed departure.
The statement underlines that airport operations remained smooth and international service standards were maintained throughout.
