Khyber: The annual elections of the District Press Club Khyber, Lundi Kotal, were completed smoothly and transparently in line with the directives of the Information Department. The election process was supervised by Khyber Bar President Abrar Afridi Advocate, Taj Mehal Advocate, and Ahmedullah Khattak Advocate, ensuring fairness and credibility throughout.
As no nomination papers were submitted for most offices by December 26, Aman Ali Shinwari was declared elected unopposed as President along with other cabinet members. A closely contested election took place for the post of General Secretary between Hijrat Ali Afridi and Jibran Shinwari. Hijrat Ali Afridi secured victory by obtaining 11 votes, while Jibran Shinwari received nine votes.
The official results were announced by the District Bar Khyber President, who praised journalists for conducting the voting process in a peaceful and democratic manner. He also appreciated the cooperation of lawyers, media representatives, and police personnel.
On the instructions of DPO Khyber Waqar Ahmed, SHO Lundi Kotal Zahid Afridi ensured complete security arrangements. Local dignitaries, including Chairman Lundi Kotal Shah Khalid Shinwari and representatives of the Customs Agents Association, observed the process and commended its orderly conduct. Other elected office-bearers include Senior Vice President Ahmed Nabi, Vice President Parvez Afridi, Joint Secretary Shahid Ali Afridi, Finance Secretary Sajid Khan, and Press Secretary Rahat Shinwari.
