Turbat, January 2: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has approved the launch of an MPhil program in Sociology at the University of Turbat (UoT) from the Spring 2026 academic session. The approval was granted by HEC’s Quality Assurance Division, according to an official notification.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan appreciated the efforts of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Department of Sociology, terming the approval a milestone in expanding UoT’s research capacity. He said the program reflects the university’s commitment to HEC quality standards and national academic priorities.
For Spring 2026, UoT is offering 13 graduate and over 50 undergraduate programs, with updated curricula focusing on research, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship and emerging market needs.
