Quetta, January 6: Balochistan Secretary of Agriculture, Noor Ahmed Parkani, inspected the Vegetable Seed Breeding Division on Mastung Road. Accompanied by senior officials, he reviewed certified vegetable seed crops and discussed timely distribution to farmers across the province. Director Vegetables, Bashir Ahmed Bangalzai, briefed on research initiatives including off-season crop production, drip irrigation, vertical farming, development of new varieties, and yield-enhancing studies. Secretary Parkani instructed researchers to prioritize practical solutions for farmers’ challenges and to expand farmer involvement in seed production. He also requested the submission of project proposals for funding under the provincial PSDP. Parkani praised the researchers’ efforts and assured full administrative support. Discussions included budget constraints, with a commitment to secure adequate funding from the Finance Department.
