KARACHI: The 15th Junior U-21 National Snooker Championship 2026 commenced on Thursday at the Jahangir Khan Sports Complex, with 16 players from across Pakistan competing. The participants are divided into four groups, with two players from each group qualifying for the quarterfinals.

A total of 16 league matches were played on Day 1. The remaining eight league matches will be held on Friday, followed by the quarterfinals at 3:00 pm.

Day 1 Highlights:

Notable wins were recorded by M. Adil (KPK), Mohsin Kamal (Punjab), M. Farhan (Punjab), Barjees Khan (Islamabad), Ali Raza (Balochistan), and Shahzaib Rafique (KPK). Close contests included five-frame victories by Ali Raza, Mohsin Kamal, Dheeraj Kumar, and Shahzaib Rafique, reflecting high competitive standards.

The championship will continue with decisive league encounters before the knockout stage, as young cueists vie for national honors.
