Lahore: At least 15 people were killed and 1,193 injured in 1,075 road traffic crashes reported across Punjab during the last 24 hours, according to the Emergency Services Department (Rescue 1122).
Officials said 465 critically injured victims were shifted to nearby district and tehsil hospitals, while 728 people with minor injuries were treated on the spot by rescue medical teams, helping reduce the burden on hospitals.
Data showed that motorcycles were involved in 71 percent of the accidents. Rescue authorities stressed strict enforcement of traffic laws and lane discipline to curb the rising number of crashes.
Among the affected were 723 drivers, 59 underage drivers, 344 passengers and 141 pedestrians. Lahore reported the highest number with 217 crashes, followed by Multan with 74 and Faisalabad with 73 incidents.
Rescue 1122 urged citizens to observe traffic rules to save lives.
