16th Death Anniversary of Khaksar Tehreek Leader Hamiduddin Ahmed Al-Mashriqi Observed

Leaders pay tribute to his struggle for justice, democracy, and the oppressed

KARACHI/LAHORE: The 16th death anniversary of former Chief of the Khaksar Tehreek, Engineer Hamiduddin Ahmed Al-Mashriqi, was observed on Friday with prayers, tributes, and remembrance gatherings across the country.

Hamiduddin Ahmed Al-Mashriqi, who passed away on January 10, 2010, was the youngest son of Allama Inayatullah Khan Al-Mashriqi, founder of the Khaksar Movement. Born in 1956 in Lahore, he received his early education at NED, Islamia High School, Ichhra, and later completed his engineering education from Sindh. He was appointed Chief of the Khaksar Tehreek in 1993.

Speakers at various commemorative events in Lahore, Karachi, Larkana, Gujranwala, AbotAbad, Havellian and others highlighted his lifelong commitment to social justice, the rights of labourers and the underprivileged, judicial independence, press freedom, and democratic values. They recalled his active role in movements for the restoration of the judiciary, accountability, and constitutional supremacy, during which he faced imprisonment, hardships, and hunger strikes.

Tributes were also paid to his simple lifestyle, integrity, and fearless political stance, noting that he remained free from corruption and personal gain throughout his life. Leaders described him as a principled statesman whose struggle was rooted in Islamic values, national unity, and the welfare of common people.

Khaksar Tehreek leadership urged workers to continue his mission of character-building, social reform, and peaceful struggle for a strong, democratic, and just Pakistan. Special prayers were offered for the late leader’s forgiveness and high rank in Jannat-ul-Firdous.

Earlier, the recitation of holy Quran and Askari Salami was presented late Hamiuddin Ahmed Al-Mashriqi on the occasion.
