Independent Report
RAWALPINDI, Jan 10: Security forces killed 11 militants in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on January 8, the Inter-Services Public Relations said on Friday.
According to ISPR, six militants belonging to Indian proxy Fitna Al Khwarij were neutralised during an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan district after troops effectively engaged their hideout following an intense exchange of fire.
In a separate joint intelligence-based operation in Kurram district, security forces and police killed five more militants during a firefight.
ISPR said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who were involved in multiple terrorist activities against security forces, law enforcement agencies and in the targeted killing of civilians.
Sanitisation operations are underway to eliminate any remaining militants in the areas. ISPR said the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
