Loralai: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Loralai Range, Junaid Ahmed Sheikh, has stressed that effective prevention of crime and strict enforcement of the rule of law must be ensured under all circumstances.
The DIG made these remarks during his visit to Loralai, where he chaired an important meeting at the SSP Office. The meeting was attended by SSP Loralai Malik Muhammad Asghar Usman, DSP Legal Sardar Nasrullah Khan Hamzazai, SDPO Karim Mandokhail, DSP Headquarters Iqbal Lango, along with SHOs and all investigating officers.
During the meeting, DIG Junaid Ahmed Sheikh conducted a detailed review of ongoing operations against proclaimed offenders and absconders, the status of under-investigation cases, and the overall performance of the police. He directed officers to dispose of pending investigation cases on a priority basis, intensify efforts for the arrest of proclaimed offenders, and ensure that investigations are carried out on modern, professional, and scientific lines.
The DIG noted that following the merger of the Levies Force, the scope of police responsibilities has significantly expanded, with former A and B areas now fully integrated into police jurisdiction. The meeting was informed that relevant committees have already been formed to make the merger process effective. DIG Sheikh directed the SSP Loralai to complete all stages of the Levies-to-police merger at the earliest in coordination with the Deputy Commissioner Loralai.
He assured that after the merger, all Levies personnel would be treated as part of the police force, no injustice would be done to anyone, and all matters would be resolved strictly on merit and transparency.
Praising police actions against narcotics, the DIG reiterated that a zero-tolerance policy against drugs would be implemented in true letter and spirit. He described drugs as a serious social menace and emphasized that the police are fully determined to eradicate it, adding that no leniency would be shown towards criminal elements involved in drug-related activities.
