Uthal: Religious leaders and local residents have demanded the immediate closure of a liquor shop located at Gadani Cross on the main highway. Maulana Muhammad Umar Adil, former Secretary General of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Lasbela & Hub, said that it is unacceptable for alcohol to be openly sold to Muslims on the main road.
He welcomed the notice issued by the higher authorities but urged immediate enforcement. Maulana Adil highlighted that the shop operates boldly despite there being no non-Muslim population in the area. He warned that the liquor outlet has contributed to frequent road accidents, as drivers are often seen gathered at the premises. He called on the government to take strict action to seal the shop and eradicate this harmful practice, which is negatively affecting youth and contributing to theft and insecurity in the region.
