GWADAR, Feb 12: Chairman Municipal Committee Gwadar, Majid, convened a high-level meeting with fish factory owners at the Municipal Committee office to address operational challenges within the city’s fish industry and review issues related to urban management, sanitation, and adherence to civic regulations.
The session was attended by Chief Officer Municipal Committee Gwadar Maktoum Musa, representatives from relevant government departments, and business stakeholders associated with the fish sector.
In his remarks, Chairman Majid highlighted Gwadar’s strategic and commercial importance, noting that the Municipal Committee functions as a proactive entity under the Department of Local Government and Rural Development. He emphasized the committee’s commitment not only to routine civic services but also to implementing practical measures that address the concerns of the business community, particularly those engaged in the fish industry.
Chief Officer Maktoum Musa assured participants that the Municipal Committee team is prepared to deliver services efficiently. He also outlined initiatives to enhance the committee’s revenue, which would support timely completion of development projects, including street lighting, road maintenance, and other urban infrastructure improvements.
During the discussions, fish factory owners shared their operational difficulties and suggestions. Chairman Majid and relevant officials assured that the issues raised would be addressed as a priority and that efforts would be made to streamline and organize the fish business sector. The meeting also emphasized the strict enforcement of civic regulations as part of comprehensive planning.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment from officials and business representatives to leverage increased revenue and optimized resource management to transform Gwadar into a model city marked by cleanliness, discipline, and sustainable development.
