Quetta, February 15: Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar has underscored that expanding access to quality healthcare across Balochistan is a top government priority, cautioning that any negligence or dereliction of duty in service delivery will be met with strict action.
Addressing various delegations, the minister highlighted that the provincial administration is committed to implementing Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti’s vision of bringing essential medical services directly to the public, especially in remote and underserved regions. He stressed that doctors and medical staff are expected to serve patients with dedication and integrity.
“Healthcare professionals must view themselves as healers and provide honest, committed care to those in need,” Minister Kakar said, adding that measures are being taken to ensure consistent availability of medicines and medical facilities even in distant districts.
He also noted that health sector development projects have been launched throughout the province, including in his own constituency, and their timely completion will significantly improve public access to medical services.
Reaffirming the government’s accountability, the minister warned that absentee or non-performing staff will face disciplinary measures. In cases where regular personnel fail to meet responsibilities, emergency contractual appointments will be made to maintain uninterrupted healthcare delivery.
Minister Kakar concluded by emphasizing that citizens’ rights to health services will be fully safeguarded, and the government will continue to advocate for public needs while ensuring efficient, transparent, and responsive healthcare provision throughout Balochistan.
