Independent Report
Khuzdar, February 15: Residents of Tehsil Moola Kunwa in Khuzdar district experienced intense tremors on Saturday, triggering panic as rocks cascaded down nearby hills and several caves reportedly caved in.
Local sources reported that the earthquake jolts were powerful enough to dislodge massive boulders from the surrounding mountains, causing them to roll into lower areas. Despite the alarming scenes, authorities confirmed that no casualties or significant property damage have been recorded.
Officials noted that the region’s rugged and remote terrain helped contain the impact on residential settlements. Continuous monitoring of the area is underway, and residents have been urged to remain alert in case of aftershocks.
Khuzdar and its neighboring mountainous areas are part of a seismically active zone in Balochistan and have witnessed tremors in the past. Initial assessments indicate that the latest seismic activity did not lead to any injuries or substantial destruction.
