Barkhan, Sep. 24 – Provincial Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran has said that under the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the Government of Balochistan is taking concrete steps to strengthen the education sector.

He stated that through the collective efforts of the provincial cabinet, the Chief Minister, and assembly members, 90 percent of the previously closed schools across the province have been reopened, while recruitment of teachers is also underway. In Barkhan, 95 teachers were hired last week to improve educational facilities.

The minister highlighted that scholarship programs have been introduced for Balochistan’s students in some of the world’s leading universities, enabling hundreds of students to continue their studies on a 100 percent scholarship basis. He further noted that 100 students have recently secured admissions to Sadiq Public School purely on merit, which he termed as a significant achievement of the provincial government.

“Our message is clear: the era of deprivation and darkness in the mountains must end. Instead, our youth should pursue education and build a brighter future,” Khetran remarked.

He admitted that the results of these educational reforms will take time to materialize, given Balochistan’s long history of neglect, but stressed that thousands of teachers have already been recruited and are serving in schools. “The people will soon witness the positive impact of these initiatives,” he said.

The provincial minister strongly criticized certain elements for obstructing development in the region. “These miscreants are pushing people towards deprivation and darkness. But the government is determined to overcome these hurdles and put Balochistan on the path of progress,” Khetran asserted
