ANF Cracks Down on Drug Traffickers, Seizes 91.8 Kg Narcotics Worth Rs. 135 Million

ISLAMABAD, Sept. 27 : The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its fight against drug trafficking across Pakistan, conducting six major operations that led to the arrest of 10 suspects, including five women, and the seizure of 91.886 kilograms of narcotics valued at over Rs. 135 million, officials said Saturday.

🔹 Drug Interdiction near Educational Institutions

In Haripur, near Hattar Road, ANF recovered 300 grams of hashish and 60 grams of ice from an accused who later confessed to selling drugs to students of local educational institutions.

🔹 International Drug Interdiction

At Islamabad International Airport, ANF foiled two smuggling bids:

A passenger traveling to Dubai was caught with 99 heroin-filled capsules weighing 706 grams, concealed in his abdomen.

Another passenger bound for Riyadh was arrested for carrying 33 cocaine-filled capsules weighing 220 grams.

🔹 Domestic Operations

In Gujrat (GT Road), ANF seized 64.8 kg of hashish and 18.6 kg of opium from a vehicle, arresting four suspects including two women.

In Mandi Bahauddin (Chak Basawa), a woman was arrested after 1.2 kg of ice was recovered from her residence.

🔹 Inter-Provincial Drug Interdiction

Near Sher Shah Toll Plaza, Multan, ANF recovered 6 kg of ice from a woman’s possession.

All suspects have been booked under the Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS) Act 1997.

Officials reaffirmed ANF’s commitment to eliminating drug trafficking, particularly its spread around educational institutions, international airports, and inter-provincial transit routes.
