Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan has said that the provincial government is committed to public service, welfare, and improving the standard of living of citizens by ensuring access to basic facilities such as education, healthcare, and clean drinking water.

Speaking at the Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners Conference, he emphasized that good governance remains the top priority, with all relevant institutions working together to bring positive change in people’s lives. He highlighted that District Development Committees are actively working to complete projects on time to improve facilities for citizens.

The Chief Secretary directed strict monitoring of essential commodity prices to ensure sales at government-notified rates, protecting poor and middle-class families from inflation. He also instructed DCs to conduct regular market visits for compliance.

Recognizing the role of digital platforms, he ordered all deputy commissioners to maintain active social media accounts on Facebook and X (Twitter) for effective communication, public awareness, and promotion of development work. He said the government has imposed a ban on plastic bags to protect the environment, encouraging eco-friendly alternatives.

He further directed that temporarily appointed teachers and doctors be paid immediately, and advertisements for vacant posts under the third phase be issued without delay. Stressing the importance of birth registration, he said NADRA and DC offices must cooperate, as proper registration is vital for national planning and legal identity.

He also underscored the promotion of a cashless economy as a national necessity, instructing all DCs to facilitate mobile banking, digital payments, and card transactions in malls, shops, and local markets across the province.
