Quetta, Sep. 30, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan chaired a high-level conference of Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners, underlining the provincial government’s commitment to public welfare, good governance, and improving citizens’ quality of life.
During the conference, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan highlighted that ensuring access to basic services such as education, healthcare, and clean drinking water remains a top priority. He stressed that all relevant departments must work together to bring positive changes in the lives of citizens and complete development projects on time through the District Development Committees.
The conference also focused on maintaining price control of essential commodities, enforcing government rates in markets, and protecting the poor and middle-class population from inflation. Measures to strengthen environmental protection, including the strict enforcement of a plastic bag ban and promotion of eco-friendly alternatives, were also emphasized to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment.
Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan further underlined the importance of birth registration as a legal requirement for children, essential for access to government services, and a crucial tool for policy-making and population data accuracy. He directed all Deputy Commissioners to coordinate closely with NADRA to ensure efficient registration and data collection.
In addition, he highlighted the promotion of a cashless economy, directing Deputy Commissioners to facilitate digital payments in major shopping centers, markets, and general stores across districts.
The Chief Secretary reiterated that these initiatives are part of the provincial government’s comprehensive strategy to strengthen governance, ensure citizen welfare, and support sustainable development throughout Balochistan.
