Deputy Commissioner Chaman Habib Ahmed Bangulzai has issued a stern warning to illegal Afghan residents in Chaman, urging them to return to Afghanistan voluntarily. The announcement came during a high-level meeting of the Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Program (IFRP), attended by District Police Officer Abdullah Cheema and other law enforcement and administrative officials.

The meeting reviewed the ongoing repatriation of illegally residing Afghan nationals from Chaman and neighboring districts and discussed future strategies for effective enforcement of Pakistan’s immigration laws.

Addressing the officials, Deputy Commissioner Bangulzai announced that a door-to-door verification campaign will begin tomorrow in key areas, including Rahman Kahol Road, Guldara Baghicha, Sheen Talab, and surrounding localities. Under this initiative, identity cards of all residents will be checked, and areas will be cleared of illegal Afghan nationals.

The DC emphasized that Afghan nationals found without proper identification on national highways or link roads will be immediately arrested and deported. Joint verification teams of Police and Levies have been deployed to implement the operation across the district.

He also confirmed that all facilities and arrangements have been put in place at the Withholding Camp at Chaman Zero Point Border, ensuring safe temporary accommodation for Afghan nationals during the repatriation process.

Deputy Commissioner Bangulzai issued a final warning: all illegal Afghan residents in Chaman must return to Afghanistan voluntarily, or face arrest and deportation under Pakistan’s immigration law.

So far, over 188,977 Afghan nationals have been repatriated through the Bab-e-Dosti border crossing, with numbers continuing to rise daily, a development the DC described as positive and encouraging.
