Interior Minister Shams Lone Visits Shaheed Saifur Rehman Hospital – Condemns Attack on Qazi Nisar Ahmed, Vows Zero Tolerance Against Terrorism
Interior Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Shams-ul-Haq Lone, visited Shaheed Saifur Rehman Hospital to inquire about the health of renowned religious scholar Qazi Nisar Ahmed and other injured police personnel who were wounded in yesterday’s attack.
During the visit, the Minister expressed his heartfelt wishes for the speedy recovery of all the injured and assured full government support for their treatment and well-being.
He strongly condemned the attack on Qazi Nisar Ahmed, terming it an act of cowardice, and affirmed that all those involved in this tragic incident will be brought to justice under the law.
Minister Lone emphasized that maintaining peace and security in Gilgit-Baltistan remains the top priority of the government. He asserted that no one will be allowed to disrupt the peace of the region, and all perpetrators will be tracked down and punished.
“The people of Gilgit-Baltistan are peace-loving, and a handful of miscreants will never be allowed to destabilize our region,” he stated, adding that the government upholds a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, extremism, and sectarian violence.
He further announced that the government will bear all medical expenses of the injured, and lauded the bravery and courage of the police officials who thwarted the terrorists’ malicious designs at the risk of their own lives.
“Gilgit-Baltistan’s law enforcement officers have set a shining example of valor, dedication, and sacrifice in the line of duty,” said Minister Shams-ul-Haq Lone.
