Islamabad, Nov.17— The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has launched a revolutionary Social Protection Wallet for its registered beneficiary women, marking a historic step towards digital financial inclusion.

In line with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s vision for a cashless economy, BISP has begun distributing free mobile SIMs to approximately one million eligible women across the country. This initiative also reflects the social protection vision of President Asif Ali Zardari and is considered among the largest social protection projects globally.

Guidelines for Beneficiaries:

Women must visit their nearest BISP office or designated camp site with their original CNIC and an active mobile phone.

After biometric verification, a free SIM will be provided to activate the Social Protection Wallet.

Beneficiaries are strictly advised not to pay anyone for the SIM, as activation is provided exclusively by BISP.

All BISP installments and stipends will now be disbursed through this digital wallet, with all related notifications sent directly to the SIM.

Chairperson BISP, Senator Rubina Khalid, emphasized that the SIM is more than a mobile connection — it is a digital wallet empowering women financially. She urged beneficiaries to safeguard it like a personal purse.

All eligible women are advised to collect their free SIMs by 31 December 2025. This initiative is a significant step in making Pakistani women more empowered, independent, and financially secure.
