ISLAMABAD, Jan 10: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted six operations across the country, arresting five suspects and recovering 63.18 kilograms of drugs worth over Rs174 million, including seizures near educational institutions.
According to an ANF spokesperson, 2.4 kg of hashish and 660 ecstasy pills were recovered from an accused near Lahore’s Industrial Area, who confessed to selling drugs to students.
In inter-provincial operations, 36 kg of opium was seized near Hayatabad Toll Plaza, Peshawar, with two arrests, while 1.5 kg of ice and 100 grams of hashish hidden in crutches were recovered near Sangjani Toll Plaza, Islamabad.
In separate actions, ANF seized 1.5 kg of ice and 1.2 kg of hashish concealed in a heater near Customs Chowk, Peshawar. Large consignments of Valium tablets were recovered from courier offices in Lahore and Karachi.
Cases have been registered under the CNSA 1997 and investigations are underway.
