From Crime Control to Traffic Flow, Aerial Surveillance Is Delivering Real Results Across the Province

Lahore, January 15, 2026:
Across Punjab, eyes in the sky are quietly helping make streets safer and traffic smoother. The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) is using modern drone technology to support law enforcement, prevent crime, and improve traffic discipline—bringing the provincial government’s vision of a Safer Punjab closer to reality.
According to PSCA officials, drone surveillance is being carried out around the clock in Lahore and several other districts. These aerial patrols help quickly spot criminal activity, traffic violations, environmental hazards, and public safety concerns. Working closely with district administrations and police on the ground, authorities are able to respond faster and more effectively.
In Lahore, drones have helped identify incidents of illegal kite flying, leading to immediate action by enforcement teams. Near Raiwind City Railway Station, drone footage exposed garbage burning that was contributing to air pollution, allowing authorities to intervene promptly.
Similar results have been seen elsewhere. In Multan, drones helped catch vehicles with fake number plates and tinted windows. In Jhang, traffic risks caused by overloaded sugarcane trolleys were flagged for action, while in Gujrat, aerial monitoring is easing congestion at busy intersections.
Drone surveillance is also active in Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Okara, and Sahiwal, where it is helping tackle wrong parking, encroachments, smog-causing activities, and crime-prone spots.
PSCA says technology is not replacing people—it’s helping them work smarter to protect lives and property across Punjab.
