Quetta: Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Eradication, Senator Dr. Ayesha Raza Farooq, attended the Balochistan Health Leadership Conference 2026 as a special guest, where provincial health sector performance and reform initiatives were reviewed.
Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar and Secretary Health Mujeeb Panizai briefed participants on the overall performance of the Balochistan Health Department, ongoing reforms, the Balochistan Health Management Information System (BHMIS), and government efforts toward polio eradication. They highlighted that no polio case has been reported in Balochistan during the past 13 months, terming it a major milestone.
Dr. Ayesha Raza Farooq praised the provincial health minister, his team, and the health department, stating that significant improvements are evident in Balochistan’s health sector. She appreciated the successful anti-polio measures and congratulated the provincial government, health workers, and relevant institutions, adding that Balochistan’s health reforms are also being acknowledged at the federal level.
