IG National Highways & Motorway Police Reviews Arrangements on Murree Expressway Ahead of Severe Weather
Islamabad: Inspector General of National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP), Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, conducted a detailed visit of the Murree Expressway (IMDC) in view of anticipated severe weather and potential snowfall. The DIG Headquarters accompanied him during the visit.
At the Sector Office Phoolgaran, the IG was briefed by DIG North Zone on the overall situation, including traffic flow, personnel deployment, security measures, and arrangements made in preparation for adverse weather conditions. The briefing emphasized that, considering passenger safety and expected traffic increase, proactive and effective measures have been implemented to manage the challenging weather.
Additional personnel have been deployed to address potential snowfall, and heavy machinery along with essential logistical resources are positioned along the expressway to ensure smooth traffic flow. All necessary precautions have been taken to guide and assist travelers during snowfall. NHMP officers and staff remain on high alert due to the possibility of severe weather and heavy snow.
Speaking on the occasion, IG NHMP Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry stated that passenger safety and timely assistance remain the top priority. He directed officers to maintain continuous monitoring of weather conditions, cooperate fully with the public during adverse conditions, and provide all possible support to travelers.
