Anti-Narcotics Force Launches Nationwide Crackdown on Smuggling

Islamabad, January 4: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has launched a nationwide crackdown on drug smuggling, resulting in the seizure of over 101.120 kilograms of narcotics worth Rs. 2.44 crore. The operation, which spanned multiple cities, led to the arrest of 7 suspects.

Key Seizures:
– Islamabad International Airport: 2.060 kilograms of ice seized from a passenger’s trolley bag bound for Bahrain.
– Karachi International Airport: 1.060 kilograms of heroin seized from a passenger’s bag bound for Jeddah.
– Balochistan: 25 kilograms of opium and 7 kilograms of heroin seized from an abandoned area in Hub district.
– Srinagar Highway, Islamabad: 24 kilograms of charas seized from a car, with 2 suspects arrested.
– GT Road, Islamabad: 24 kilograms of charas seized from a car.
– Ring Road, Peshawar: 18 kilograms of charas seized from a car’s secret compartment.

The ANF has registered cases against the arrested suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act and initiated investigations.
