Health Department warns of disciplinary action against officials, healthcare providers found indulged in strike

QUETTA: The Health Department has warned to take disciplinary action against any official/ healthcare provider found indulged in any sort of strike or absent from his / her duties on the pretext of strike.
According to an official circular issued here by the Secretary Health, Mujeebur Rehman, the officials or healthcare providers found indulged in the strike or absent from their duties would be dealt with strict disciplinary proceedings including termination from service.
It may be mentioned here that the Grand Health Alliance has announced to observe boycott of the services in out patient departments and elective operation theatres in the government hospitals from Monday (today).
The Grand Health Alliance has threatened to boycott other emergency services in the hospitals in case their demands were not met.
The token strike of three hours was already being observed in the OPDs of public sector hospitals of the province.
The Health Department’s notification is in backdrop of the call of boycott of the services in OPDs and operation theatres given by the Grand Health Alliance.
