National Party Leader Slams Government for Ignoring Gwadar Protest Demands

Islamabad, Jan 15, Central leader of the National Party, Senator Jan Mohammad Buledi, addressed the Senate of Pakistan, expressing his dismay over the government’s failure to address the demands of the All Parties Gwadar protest, which has been ongoing for a month.

The protesters are calling for the removal of obstacles in border trade, the elimination of illegal checkpoints, and a ban on illegal fishing nets in the Arabian Sea. However, instead of meeting these demands, the government has resorted to pressuring the protesters to end their strike and sit-in.

Buledi criticized the government’s actions, stating that the political space in Balochistan is shrinking daily. He cited the recent election in a Quetta constituency, where widespread rigging sent a message to political parties that there is no room for politics in Balochistan.

The National Party leader also highlighted the plight of the people of Balochistan, who face daily hardships due to closed roads and the enforced disappearance of youth.
