QUETTA: The Chairman Pashtoonkhaw Millia Awami Party (PkMAP), Mehmood Khan Achakzai has categorically stated that Pakistan is our country, and we are its well-wisher, and adding he stressed that wrong interpretation of our any genuine demand may not be made.
He said that we want equality of all nationalities living in the country, and do believe on it. We want solution to the problems being faced by the Pashtoon people with honour and dignity.
These and similar other views were expressed by the Chairman PkMAP while addressing the grand Pashtun Ulasi (public) Jirga here at a local spacious marriage hall on Saturday afternoon.
The convenor of Pashtoon Jirga and central leader of PkMAP, Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai presided over the Jirga, which was attended by the party leaders, workers and notables from different walks of life from all over the province.
Addressing the Ulasi Jirga, the Chairman PkMAP maintained that Pakistan is our homeland, for we have rendered sacrifices. He said that we would continue our due rights in the country.
He also stressed that PkMAP deems Pakistan as a volunteer federation in which, Pashtoons, Balochs, Sindhi, Siraiki and Punjabis are equal citizens. He said that we want equal rights for all the nationalities living in the country. These nationalities must be given right on their resources, adding he stressed.
He also stressed that we want supremacy of constitution and law in the country.
He said that the only solution to run the country is to acknowledge supremacy of the constitution.
He said that the parliament which came in to being should have the authority to make foreign and interior policies of the country.
He said that ever new acts are being approved in the assembly under which seven year imprisonment would be granted to those who would violate them. But, what would be the punishment for those who rigged the general elections telling lie.
He said that the PTI had won the elections of February 8, but they were denied victory. He also lamented the incumbent government for leveling allegations on the PTI founder and his wife.
He said that these tactics would not work anymore and demanded of the rulers to release Imran Khan immediately.
The Pashtoon Jirga is scheduled to conclude today (Sunday) with the key speech to be delivered by Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai.
