ANF Launches Crackdown on Narcotics Smuggling, Arrests 7 Suspects

Rawalpindi. Jan. 29: In a nationwide operation, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has launched a crackdown on narcotics smuggling, arresting 7 suspects and seizing over 227.640 kilograms of narcotics worth Rs. 2.5 billion.

The operation, which was carried out in various cities across the country, resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of narcotics, including heroin, opium, and charras.

Some notable seizures include:

– 76 heroin-filled capsules recovered from a passenger at Lahore Airport, who was attempting to travel to Jeddah.
– 28.8 kilograms of opium and 98.4 kilograms of charras seized from a car in Islamabad, with two suspects arrested.
– 38.4 kilograms of charras recovered from a car in Lahore, with one suspect arrested.
– 33.6 kilograms of charras seized from a car in Lahore, with one suspect arrested.
– 12 kilograms of charras recovered from a suspect in Jamshoro.
– 10 kilograms of ice seized in Turbat, Balochistan.
– 6 kilograms of opium recovered from a suspect in Peshawar.

The ANF has registered cases against the arrested suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act and has initiated investigations.
