SWAT: Feb 14. A two-day workshop titled “Capacity Building of EVAWG Alliance Swat” was held in Swat under the auspices of the Aurat Foundation. The workshop brought together legal experts, police, government officials, and journalists to foster collaboration in the fight against gender-based violence. The primary goal was to eliminate violence against women and strengthen the EVAWG (Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls) Alliance.
During the workshop, there were in-depth discussions on improving advocacy strategies, legal frameworks, and support mechanisms for women who suffer from violence and other injustices. Key speakers included Shabna Ayaz from the Aurat Foundation, Provincial Manager Saima Munir, and Samrin Hakim Advocate, the EVAWG Alliance Swat Focal Person. They underscored the importance of collective action and the need for capacity-building measures to address societal abuse against women and girls. The workshop also covered topics such as policy implementation, grassroots mobilization, and strategies for creating a safe environment for women and girls.
The event featured interactive sessions, case studies, and group discussions, which aimed to enhance the participants’ understanding of gender-sensitive policies and intervention strategies.
