Hyderabad, February 2, 2026: Hyderabad is grappling with a sharp rise in organized crime, illegal drug activity, and civic mismanagement, raising concerns among residents and local authorities.
Recent reports indicate that several areas, including Site, Fort, and Airport KoSar, have seen the open sale of drugs such as hashish, ice, heroin, and other intoxicants, along with illegal alcohol distribution. Video evidence circulating on social media highlights the scale of these operations and has prompted demands for immediate law enforcement action. Despite repeated alerts, residents claim enforcement has been insufficient, contributing to growing public concern.
In addition to crime, Hyderabad faces serious civic challenges. Severe traffic congestion at the Civil Hospital main gate is reportedly endangering patients during emergencies, while neighborhoods in Town Neroon Kot and Union Council 12 are experiencing extreme sewerage overflow, causing unsanitary conditions and the spread of diseases. Residents allege that repeated complaints have gone unaddressed, highlighting gaps in municipal governance and accountability.
Local authorities, including the Hyderabad police and municipal officials, have been urged to take swift, transparent action to curb criminal networks, regulate illegal activities, and restore essential civic services.
