PM Shehbaz Sharif’s Azerbaijan visit to strengthen economic ties: Jam Kamal
ISLAMABAD, Feb 23 (APP):Marking a major milestone in bilateral relations, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan Sunday praised Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Azerbaijan, highlighting its potential to unlock new avenues of cooperation and mutual growth.
In an exclusive Interview from Baku with PTV news channel, he emphasized that Prime Minister is keen to collaborate with Azerbaijan in all areas, fostering a robust partnership between the two nations, adding, PM visit to Azerbaijan, citing its potential to spur economic growth, enhance trade and deepen mutual understanding.
The visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to Azerbaijan has yielded significant results, with Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan confirming that around 12 protocols will be signed, strengthening the bilateral ties between the two nations.
He further highlighted that the Prime Minister is personally overseeing all collaborative efforts, demonstrating the government’s commitment to fostering business opportunities and providing a platform for Pakistani entrepreneurs to expand globally.
Notably, a dedicated team arrived in Azerbaijan prior to the Prime Minister’s visit, underscoring the government’s seriousness about creating a conducive business environment, he mentioned.
The Pakistani government has identified countries that offer potential business and trade opportunities, Minister said.
Azerbaijan and Pakistan are set to explore and work together in areas of IT and Agriculture, he said, adding, this collaboration can lead to significant benefits for both countries.
In agriculture, Azerbaijan has a lot to offer, being an agrarian country with a strong focus on crop production, including wheat, barley, potatoes, maize, cotton, grapes, vegetables, fruits, tobacco, and tea, he added.
In IT, Azerbaijan can benefit from Pakistan’s expertise in the sector, which has seen significant growth in recent years. The collaboration can lead to the development of new technologies, innovation, and entrepreneurship in both countries, he noted.
The government’s focus on international trade diplomacy is a key priority, and it is not just about attracting investors. This approach is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Pakistan’s economy and promote sustainable growth, he concluded.
