Legal Action Against Brick Kilns Violating Environmental Laws in Nawabshah and Surrounding Areas

On the directives of Sindh Minister for Environment, Climate Change & Coastal Development Mr. Dost Muhammad Rahimoon, Secretary Environment Agha Shahnawaz Khan the Regional In-Charge of SEPA Shaheed Benazirabad, Dr. Gul Ameer Sumbal, has taken firm action against brick kilns found violating environmental laws in Nawabshah and its surrounding areas.

Dr. Gul Ameer Sumbal filed petitions in the Court of Judicial Magistrate-II against various brick kiln owners for using environmentally hazardous fuel (indigenous fuel) in violation of the Sindh Environmental Protection Act (SEPA). The brick kiln companies and their proprietors include:
Al-Mehran Bricks Company (Ghulam Sarwar Pathan, Ghulam Parvez Ali Pathan),
Madani Bricks Company (Muhammad Yousaf Jatoi, Muhammad Khan Jatoi, Ali Raza Jatoi),
Qudrati Bricks Company (Adnan Khan, Ghulam Mustafa),
Parvez Dahio & Ghulam Ali Dahio Bricks Company* (Parvez Dahio, Ghulam Ali Dahio),
Mashallah Bricks Company (Haji Nazar Muhammad Pathan, Seth Suleman),
Badshah Bricks Company (Khan Muhammad Bhatti, Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti),
Hussnain Bricks Company (Rais Imam Bux Zardari, Seth Badal Khan, Seth Muhram Pathan),
Habib Gul & Shahzad Gul Bricks Company (Habib Gul, Shahzad Gul),
Sarwar Khan Bricks Company (Sarwar Khan, Sajan Chandio, Muhammad Noor Pathan),
Keeria Bricks Company (Bashir Ahmed Keerio, Sain Bux alias Naik Muhammad Keerio),
Syed Bricks Company (Asmatullah Achakzai),
and Muhammad Zaman Shah Jillani Bricks Company (Seth Wazir Ali Jatoi).

As a result of these petitions, bailable arrest warrants have been issued against all named proprietors. This legal action has been taken to ensure the enforcement of environmental protection laws, curb air pollution, and safeguard public health.

The Sindh Environmental Protection Agency reaffirms its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against any violations of environmental laws and will continue to take strict action without discrimination in the future.
