INAUGURAL CEREMONY OF THE 1295TH ANNUAL URS OF HAZRAT ABDULLAH SHAH GHAZI (RA)

ACTING GOVERNOR OF SINDH, SYED AWAIS QADIR SHAH, FORMALLY INAUGURATED THE URS BY OFFERING A CEREMONIAL CHADAR.

Karachi, 17th June on Tuesday, Acting Governor of Sindh, Syed Awais Qadir Shah, participated in the inauguration ceremony of the 1295th Annual Urs of the renowned spiritual figure Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (RA) in Karachi. Chief Administrator of Auqaf, Farukh Shehzad Qureshi, welcomed the Acting Governor upon his arrival. On this occasion, Syed Awais Qadir Shah placed a ceremonial chadar on the shrine, recited Fatiha, and offered special prayers for the peace, progress, and prosperity of the nation. He also interacted with the devotees and reviewed the arrangements made for them.

Speaking at the event, Acting Governor Sindh Syed Awais Qadir Shah said that the teachings of the saints are a source of humanity, peace, brotherhood, and spiritual purification. Great Sufi saints like Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (RA) promoted love, tolerance, and unity in society through their teachings and character. In today’s age, following their path is a collective need. He further said that the Sindh government considers providing facilities to the devotees visiting the shrines of saints as a top priority.

The Department of Auqaf and other relevant institutions are constantly working to provide a better, safe, and dignified environment for the visitors. He added that the Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (RA) is a spiritual gathering that unites people from different schools of thought. He said that Sindh is the land of Sufis, dervishes, and people of heart, where the values of love, tolerance, and public service have always flourished.
