GoB taking concrete steps to provide women with opportunities of growth in all spheres of life, says Rubaba

QUETTA: The Advisor to Women Development Department, Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi has stated that the Government of Balochistan is taking concrete and sustainable steps to provide women in the province with opportunities for advancement and growth in all spheres of life.
She expressed these views while addressing the launch ceremony of the “Balochistan Gender Parity Report” held at BUITEMS, organized by UN Women on Thursday.

The event was attended by Provincial Minister for Education Ms. Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani, Secretary Women Development Department Ms. Saira Atta, former Chairperson of the Balochistan Commission on the Status of Women Ms. Fauzia Shaheen, representatives from civil society, university faculty and students, and distinguished women from various professional fields. The event was hosted by UN Women Balochistan Head, Ms. Ayesha Wadood.
Dr. Rubaba Buledi highlighted that the women of Balochistan are talented, resilient, and visionary—what they need are the right opportunities. She stressed that research and analytical studies like the Gender Parity Report serve as crucial milestones for policy formulation and strategic planning. Such reports provide valuable guidance to the government for taking practical, ground-level actions based on real data and insights.
She further stated that the progress of women is not just an individual achievement but the foundation of societal development. The Government of Balochistan is not only promoting women’s inclusion in education, health, and the economy but is also introducing legislative measures and institutional reforms to ensure gender equality.
At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi presented appreciation shields and souvenirs to women who have rendered outstanding services in various fields.
