Ambassador of Austria Calls on Acting Governor & Speaker Provincial Assembly of Sindh
The meeting to discuss on strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing mutual cooperation

KARACHI: Her Excellency Andrea Wicke, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Pakistan, called on Acting Governor and Honorary Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, Syed Awais Qadir Shah, at his Assembly office.
Her Excellency was accompanied by Ms. Tushna Patel, representative of the Parsi community and an active civil society member.
The meeting was marked by discussions on strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing mutual cooperation.
Her Excellency informed the Acting Governor about the appointment of an Honorary Consul of Austria in Sindh—a development that was warmly welcomed and appreciated.
Topics of shared interest such as education, healthcare, and climate change were also discussed, with both sides emphasizing the importance of collaborative initiatives in these areas.
The Ambassador and the Acting Governor also explored the possibility of a parliamentary exchange program to facilitate knowledge-sharing between Austrian institutions and the members and staff of the Sindh Assembly.
Her Excellency appreciated Pakistan’s ongoing role in promoting regional peace and its policy of restraint.
Syed Awais Qadir Shah reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful diplomacy and welcomed Austria’s interest in working together for global harmony and progress.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of traditional Sindhi Ajraks, along with the presentation of the Assembly’s legacy shield to the distinguished guest, as a gesture of Sindh’s rich culture and hospitality.
