Two Key Suspects in Director Land Ehsan Elahi Murder Case Killed in Islamabad Police Encounter
In a major breakthrough, Islamabad Police have neutralized two prime suspects involved in the murder of Director Land, Ehsan Elahi, during an encounter in the Noon Police Station jurisdiction, according to the police spokesperson.
The slain suspects, identified as Abid Yaseen and Abrar Khan, were wanted for the brutal killing of Director Land Ehsan Elahi and the attempted murder of Qaiser Ashfaq in Blue Area, Islamabad. The incident had sparked widespread outrage, prompting police to launch a high-level operation to track down the culprits.
Police teams had been actively pursuing the accused since the incident, and both were initially arrested during a routine checkpoint operation in the Noon area. During the arrest, the suspects opened fire on the police, but officers remained unhurt due to timely protective measures and successfully recovered weapons from their possession.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the Blue Area murder and assault, revealing critical details about their accomplices. Subsequently, police teams escorted the suspects to a location identified for the arrest of their remaining associates. However, as soon as they reached the area, unidentified attackers opened fire, resulting in the deaths of the two detained suspects by their own accomplices’ bullets.
Police reinforcements were immediately called in to secure the area. After the situation was brought under control, the bodies of the suspects were recovered and shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination.
According to Islamabad Police, operations are ongoing to trace and arrest the remaining absconders, while law enforcement agencies reaffirmed their commitment that no criminal network will be spared and the capital’s peace will be fully maintained.
