Lahore (PR): The founders of Pakistan had clearly and unequivocally declared a firm state policy of never recognizing the illegitimate Zionist state of Israel. Tanzeem-e-Islami’s stance of never recognizing Israel is not merely political, but firmly rooted in faith and justice, too. These views were expressed by the Ameer of Tanzeem-e-Islami, Shujauddin Shaikh in a statement. The Ameer said that the visionary of Pakistan, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, in 1919 and again in 1937, strongly supported the resistance of the Mujahideen against the Zionist settlements in the Holy Land. He explicitly declared that the establishment of a Jewish state by usurping the lands of Palestinian Muslims would never be acceptable to Muslims. The founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, commented on the establishment of the illegitimate Zionist state on May 14, 1948, stating: “Israel is the illegitimate child of the West.” Years before this, Quaid-e-Azam had also said: “As long as even a single Muslim man or woman is alive, the existence of Israel can never be justified.” The renowned English magazine The Tribune, in its November 22, 2023 issue, revealed historical facts, stating that in 1939, Quaid-e-Azam sent Chaudhry Khaliquzzaman and Abdur Rehman Siddiqui to Britain with the directive to convey his message to Grand Mufti of Palestine, Amin al-Husseini, and to present the All-India Muslim League’s stance in various meetings that the British White Paper, that proposed the establishment of an Israeli state on Palestinian land, was contrary to facts. Quaid-e-Azam emphasized that only one state should be established there—and that is a Palestinian state. The truth is that the love for the people of Palestine and the sanctity of Bayt al-Maqdis (Al-Aqsa) were embedded in the DNA of both the leadership and masses of the Muslim community during the Pakistan Movement. Evidence of this lies in the historic gathering on March 23, 1940, at Minto Park, Lahore, presided over by Quaid-e-Azam, where the very first resolution passed was the demand for a single Palestinian state—before the Lahore Resolution (also known as the Pakistan Resolution) was presented. The Ameer said that ignoring these historical truths is against justice and fairness. He added that signing the Abraham Accords essentially means accepting the existence of the illegitimate Zionist state of Israel. Therefore, the Government of Pakistan must continue to uphold the irrevocable policy established by the founders of Pakistan—even before the creation of Islamic Republic of Pakistan—that Israel should never be recognized. He further stated that the founder of Tanzeem-e-Islami, Dr. Israr Ahmed (RAA), used to say: “Even if all the Arab countries and the rest of the world recognize Israel, Pakistan must never do so.” Tanzeem-e-Islami’s unwavering policy regarding the Palestine issue and refusal to ever recognize the illegitimate Zionist state of Israel is not just political—but based firmly on faith and justice.
