The Human Organization for Peaceful Environment (HOPE) Balochistan recently hosted a Round Table Dialogue on Bio-Fortified Staple Crops in District Jhal Magsi. The event brought together key stakeholders from the agriculture sector, research institutions, government departments, NGOs, and local communities to promote the adoption and scale-up of bio-fortified crops, particularly the wheat variety “Akbar-19”, for improved nutrition and food security.

Promoting Bio-Fortified Crops:* The dialogue aimed to enhance food and nutrition security by promoting the adoption of bio-fortified crops in Jhal Magsi district.
– Stakeholder Engagement: Representatives from the Agriculture Extension Department, Agriculture University, Directorate of Research, and other relevant departments attended the event, highlighting the importance of collaboration in promoting bio-fortified crops.
– Scaling Up “Akbar-19”: The stakeholders discussed strategies to scale up the production and adoption of “Akbar-19”, a bio-fortified wheat variety, to improve nutrition and food security in the region
