CELEBRATIONS OF INDEPENDENCE DAY AND MARKA-E-HAQ WITH GREAT ENTHUSIASM AND ZEAL, THE EVENTS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL AUGUST 14, COMMISSIONER KARACHI SYED HASSAN NAQVI.
Karachi 02nd August: Like other parts of the country, Karachi is also celebrating Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq with great enthusiasm and zeal. The Karachi administration, under the leadership of Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi, has made comprehensive plans and taken various steps .The celebrations began on August 1, and will continue until August 14. The Karachi Commissioner has directed all Deputy Commissioners to take special measures for the event. The administration has also collaborated with various departments, non-governmental organizations, and private institutions to make this year’s celebrations more vibrant and meaningful.
The festivities commenced with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah cutting a cake at an event held at the Expo Center. On Friday, a walk was organized from Peoples Chowrangi to Mazar-e-Quaid to celebrate Independence Day and Marka,-e-Haq. Minister for Local Government Saeed Ghni participated as the chief guest and delivered a speech. The walk was attended by senior officials, including Additional IG Javed Alam Odho, Arts Council President Ahmad Shah, Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly, and Deputy Commissioners, who paid tribute to the role of the Pakistan Army in defending the country .
A meeting was held at the Commissioner’s office to review the arrangements for the celebrations , attended by various departmental secretaries , senior officers, and the President of the Arts Council. The meeting decided to decorate Shahrah-e-Faisal with national flags, models of aircraft, and pictures of national heroes and martyrs, along with tree plantation and lighting. A three-day cultural program will be held at Frere Hall from August 8-10, featuring musical performances and a food festival. The 14-day celebrations will include various events such as marathon, cycle races, donkey cart race, cricket matches hockey match, women’s bike race and boat race will be organized.
