Karachi, August 21:
A high-level delegation comprising Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade, Bilal Khan Kakar, Secretary Energy Balochistan Dawood Bazai, and Chairman Advisory Board of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Mian Zahid Hussain visited the Consulate of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Karachi. The delegation received a warm welcome from the UAE Consul General, Mr. Bakheet Ateeq Ali Alyan Al Remeithi.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the vast investment opportunities in Balochistan, bilateral trade relations, and prospects for future cooperation. It was decided that a trade delegation from the UAE, led by Consul General Al Remeithi, would soon visit Balochistan to directly assess investment projects and meet with local stakeholders.
Speaking on the occasion, Bilal Khan Kakar, Vice Chairman of the BBoIT, stated that Balochistan is the gateway to the region and a land rich in resources. He highlighted immense opportunities in the sectors of minerals, fisheries, agriculture, and energy. “We want the world to see Balochistan up close and benefit from its potential,” he said. “As a brotherly nation, the UAE can prove to be an excellent partner. The Government of Balochistan is committed to providing all possible facilities and protection to investors.”
He further stated that Balochistan is poised to become not only Pakistan’s but the entire region’s key trade and economic hub in the near future.
UAE Consul General Mr. Bakheet Al Remeithi remarked that the relationship between the UAE and Pakistan has always been fraternal and deep-rooted. He acknowledged Balochistan’s strategic importance, natural resources, and ongoing development projects as highly attractive for investment. He expressed that the upcoming visit to Balochistan would give a new dimension to mutual cooperation.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to further strengthen Pakistan-UAE relations and to promote Balochistan as a major regional center for investment and trade in the future.
