PM’s Special Directive: Federal Minister Ameer Muqam Distributes Relief Cheques Among Flood Victims in Buner
Buner (Independent Report): On the special instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Federal Minister Engineer Ameer Muqam visited Buner, the district most severely affected by the recent floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and distributed relief cheques among the victims. He also met the families of those who lost their lives and expressed his condolences.
Speaking on the occasion, Ameer Muqam said, “We have come forward to serve the people in this difficult time; this mission goes beyond politics. The flood victims will not be left alone, and the federal government will stand by them until their complete rehabilitation.”
The minister noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is personally monitoring the flood relief efforts and has directed that all resources be utilized for the restoration of electricity, roads, and other essential services. He praised the role of the Pakistan Army, institutions, and citizens who have rendered exemplary services for the relief of the affected people.
Highlighting the magnitude of the disaster, Ameer Muqam said that the entire nation is saddened by the human and material losses caused by the floods in Buner. He described the calamity as another major natural tragedy after 2005, 2010, and 2022, adding that the Pakistani nation has always faced such trials with unity and resilience.
The minister further recalled that Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir had earlier visited Buner and expressed solidarity with the victims. He added that relief activities continue across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and other affected regions, with political leaders and government representatives working tirelessly to support the people.
Ameer Muqam announced that he would also visit Gilgit-Baltistan and other flood-hit areas to review the ongoing relief operations. He reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to ensuring full rehabilitation of the flood-stricken communities.
